Welcome To Vellos Bridal

Hello and thanks for stopping by. This is my very 1^st blog post, I guess I’ve known for a long time that I should be blogging, but the truth be told I am not a writer. I am a designer, I find it much easier to create something that is visually pleasing than to put words on a page, so I will keep my post brief and will try and include lots of images, after all pictures speak louder than words.

So who am I? I’m a wife and a mother of 4 (2 girls and 2 boys), by default this means that as well as being a designer/dressmaker, I am a chef, nurse, taxi driver, jury and judge, teacher, psychologist and the list goes on, I think you get the picture. It’s fun, rewarding and filled with emotional highs and lows. Vellos Bridal gives me a creative outlet, a place where I can just have fun, where I can escape into another world, a world of luxurious laces and silks and create something simply from an idea, it’s like being transported back to childhood into every little girl’s fantasy land where we play with dresses and jewels. Admittedly my mother was a seamstress so there was never a shortage of scraps to play and create with.

Now days I create all Vellos Bridal Gowns myself in my studio. I personally consult with all my brides right from the initial meeting through to sewing on the final button or bead and everything in between. As I am a made to order service, it isn’t a problem to make changes to any of my samples to suit you or to create something completely from scratch exclusively. The gowns whether ordering from a sample or from a sketch, are created over a series of fittings. It is an exciting time for the bride, as she watches her dream gown evolve from a simple sketch into “the dress” and it is equally exciting for me.
